A funny new insightful play about Benjamin, a bucket drumming street performer who's suddenly faced with hard times in the "The Big Easy." The story, inspired by true events, transcends the ordinary & redefines lives along the way.
Benjamin is a talented lead drummer and senior in his high school marching band until he suddenly faces financial pressure and is unable to attend school. Without hesitation he dutifully dedicates his talent to bucket-drumming on Bourbon Street to help his grieving mother shake off financial burdens. Both struggle with the unjustifiable bureaucratic challenges in addition to their already difficult lives in “The Big Easy."
Benjamin Wright and his mom, Rita Bybell-Wright's perspective journeys reveal an insightful and affirming story about the vitality of time when people of various social groups come together in the face of adversity. The symbolic double cavalcade of mother and son prevails and redirects them towards the light of redemptive powers in faith, truth, and love.
The intricately unique musical score features an elevating street fusion that tastefully accompanies the storyline’s inclination. The atmospheric performance reaches new heights to an experiential surprise conclusion.
