Each show varies, but will be clearly marked if it is an age restricted show. ‘All Ages’ means there are no restrictions. Any show marked 16+, 18+, 21+ will require a valid ID for entry to show proof of age. Anyone wishing to purchase or consume alcoholic beverages must be 21+ with a valid ID. We accept photo IDs as well as the LA Wallet App.
Purses and small bags are allowed in the venue and are subject to search upon entry. No outside food or drinks are permitted. Empty water containers are allowed. No knives, mace or weapons of any kind are allowed.
ONLY small profile cameras with non-detachable lenses are allowed at shows without a valid Photo Pass. Some events may have further restrictions on photography and/or cameras which will be clearly noted with the show & ticketing information.
The Joy Theater no longer requires proof of Covid-19 vaccinations or negative Covid-19 tests, unless otherwise required by an artist for their upcoming show.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE
The Joy Theater has multiple premium full bars on all levels for our guests. Outside food and beverage is not permitted.
We are located at 1200 Canal St in downtown New Orleans near numerous parking options on the street, in lots, & in parking garages. The Joy Theater is on the corner of Canal St & Elk Place. The Joy does not own or operate a dedicated parking lot for public events.
For 50 guests or 1200 guests, the Joy can accommodate private events of any size. From cocktail receptions to private concerts, we can host it all.

All caterers are welcome; however, The Joy Theater works with some of the best caterers in New Orleans. Be sure to ask about out our preferred catering list. Caterers must sign a catering agreement, submit a business license, and insurance 60 days prior to the event. Catering arrangements may be organized independently or through The Joy Theater.
No, but because the Joy Theater holds its own liquor license, we can fully customize any bar or beverage package to suit your needs, including off-menu special requests and rare finds. We can work directly with any beverage company to arrange sponsorship and donations.
Day or night, the Joy Theater is the ultimate downtown venue to host your corporate event or experiential activations. The open layout and outstanding audio visual amenities make presentations, meetings, and keynote speakers a great fit for our space. The wrap around bar and entertaining atmosphere make evening festivities a huge hit.
No, all ages are welcome at any privately hosted event at the client’s discretion.
TICKETS & BOX OFFICE
Our Box Office is only open on show days.
It will open 1 hour prior to the door time. Door times for each show can very and guests should check event times listed on the ticketing page.
A portion of the online service fees are still applied for box office ticket purchases. Customers generally save $2.50-$6 per ticket when purchasing at the Joy Theater box office.
No, currently only tickets for events at the Joy Theater are available for purchase.
Tickets may be purchased online at www.thejoytheater.com by selecting the event on our calendar.
Additionally, our Box Office will be open 1 hour prior to show door times.
Unless otherwise noted on the ticket, we are primarily a general admission standing room venue. Seating in the lower and upper balcony vary by event and are often sold as premium seating offers.
